Collectibles

I love my farm and country collectibles! I was fortunate to be able to scavenge and save a few items from our farm in Saskatchewan before it was sold. Regularly, I also take a tour of local thrift stores and watch the marketplace for various items.

Here are some pictures of some of my vintage collectibles and displays from my private collection. I will keep adding more as time goes by. We are still unpacking from our move so I will be setting up some displays as we unpack.

Antique clock (*) from my grandmother, passed to me by my aunt. The clock belonged to two brothers who my grandmother cared for on our farm, in their last years.

Horseshoe from our farm (*).

Vintage linens and doilies from family relatives, passed down over the years, antiquarian books from my collection, vintage measuring cup and ice cream dish from family, bouquet from local antique store.

Oak desk purchased in 1995 (*). Original pitchfork from our farm (*) in Saskatchewan… used by my great grandparents!

Vintage washboard and snowshoes purchased around 2019. French Country clock.

Soup tureen purchased recently. Underneath, some of my red table runners, most used for Christmas displays and purchased at local craft fairs, my vintage doilies, an enamelware wash basin from our farm (from our sauna!) that I rescued (* I have others), a red handled enamelware pot purchased in Saskatchewan, a couple of red vintage rolling pins purchased on Vancouver Island.

Potholders!

My vintage pot holders…I think I have more somewhere. The striped pink and green ones were from my grandmother. I have another set somewhere from my aunt. The rest I purchased at various thrift shops, etc.

Red Enamelware Collectibles

Some of my vintage red enamelware.

Largest basin (*)was from our farm and we used in the Sauna. The salt and pepper shaker (1*) was from our farm (previously mentioned).

The rest purchased on Vancouver Island and in Saskatchewan. Vintage enamelware creamers, pots, basins, plate and lid, coffee kettle, glass spice shaker.

Ketchup bottle (*)

My red kitchenware on new hutch, our large sauna basin in enamelware and those red salt and pepper shakers again.

Blue Enamelware Collectibles

I recently picked a couple extra blue enamelware items for free at an estate sale on the last day. Purchased the blue kettle at a thrift shop. Players cigarette case was in the bottom of a sewing basket I bought at an estate sale.

A vintage veterinary kit of my dad’s from our farm in Sask. Amazing he know how to use this!

My Grandmother’s pot holders (*), creamer (*)and plate (*), my mother’s well-used baking and bread recipes (*), one of the salt shakers (*) I found in the summer kitchen!

A treasured oil painting (*) given to my great aunt on one of her trips to Finland, painted by our Finnish cousin and my picked wooden box (*).

Here is another photo with more of my farm insulators, some from our farm and some from antique stores. I also found another antique lantern at a thrift store. Love it!

My complete collection of telephone insulators, and some farm finds, a Players Tin, a couple of trivets, small horseshow and a bell, as well as my grandparents camera (*) . The binoculars were purchased on Vancouver Island as were the oil lamps.

Teacups!

Lovely pink display of teacups, most passed from my mother. The pink plate was my grandmothers, and the miniature October teacup was given to me. The Aynsley porcelain flowers I bought at a thrift store. I have alot more individual teacups to show you!

A gold Royal Winton tea set that I purchased on the marketplace…it was a steal so I couldn’t resist. The gold teacups beside were my mother’s. The antiquarian books are from my collection. The blue candy dish was part of my table displays for our wedding. Flow blue plate given with the purchase of my Welsh dresser.

Royal York tea set I had purchased years ago.

My wedding pattern is Autumn Roses. I have an 8 place setting available.

Below is a very old manicure set which I bought many years ago. I can imagine a proper lady sitting reading The Girls Own Manual while getting her nails done! She would need her trusty camera beside her to take photographs of her and her friends.

Vintage Sewing!

I found this vintage wooden sewing basket about 15 years ago at a garage sale. It had lots of vintage sewing supplies inside. Check it out! I guess most people would throw them away, but not me 🙂 The smaller red vintage sewing basket was my mother’s.

Christmas Displays

I was having fun this Christmas including some of my Christmas Displays on my page It’s a Country Christmas! I even went to a couple of craft fairs in late November, and found some vintage wooden Christmas decorations. Love these!
